The role of the Curator at Project has been to maintain an active level of research in the field of art and art theory and to develop this as a fluid and critical programme that engages with an Irish and an international context for visual arts. A key function of the programme has been to collaborate closely with artists on commissioning new work, often using the gallery as a production space. Projects by artists from Ireland and by international artists have also been juxtaposed with historical and archival material relevant to contemporary practice. In addition there has been a policy of platforming art from beyond the Western mainstream. Recent national and international collaborations include working with The Model Arts and Niland Gallery ( IRL), Bookworks (UK) and Frieze Art Fair (UK).Artists who have shown at Project in recent years include: Bojan Sarcevic, Heather Allen, Gerard Byrne, Enrico David, Martha Rosler, Ronan McCrea, Sheila Gowda, Matti Braun, Cinilingus, General Idea, Goshka Macuga, Artcirq, Klaus Weber, NS Harsha, Lali Chetwynd, Eoghan McTigue, Hito Steyerl, Guy Bar Amotz, Declan Clarke, Paul McDevitt, Eva Berendes, Sarah Pierce/The Metropolitan Complex, Valsan Koorma Kolleri, Martin Westwood, Seamus Harahan, Bank, Simon Martin, Isabel Nolan, Aleksandra Mir, Factotum, Tonico Auad, Stuart Brisley, Shahin Afrassiabi and Eva Rothschild.
