I just read the news that Hans Haacke has been reimbursed € 11.000 for the loss of an artwork that denounced some German industries' involvement with the Gulf War. First the work was censored by one of these companies, then the gallery (Lenbachhaus, Munich) reportedly lost the work.
If someone as big as Haacke gets this kind of respect, no wonder unknown artists get none.
